Boy have we been busy this week! We continued our Ocean Unit and learned about sharks, dolphins, whales, and sea turtles. We also got a message from Debbie Diesen, the author of "The Pout-Pout Fish". She commented on my post about her book and thanked us for using it in our ocean unit! How cool is that?!
We have also been practicing a special song for our End of Year Party! We can't wait to share it with you!
During shared reading this week, we read books about Gilbert the shark. After reading each book, we filled in this story map. We were then able to compare and contrast them. We had so much fun reading about all of Gilbert's adventures!
We also read multiple nonfiction books about sharks. We picked some of our favorite cool shark facts and wrote them on construction paper to go on our bulletin board. We also made these adorable chomping sharks!
On Friday, our learning was focused around sea turtles. We learned a lot about the life of a sea turtle. Most importantly we learned ways that we can help keep these animals safe.
